History Cottrell Law Firm, P.A. (CLF) opened in February of 2002. Bill Cottrell, the owner of Cottrell Law Firm, has been practicing law for over 28 years. He started his law career at Stewart and Zlimen, Ltd in 1983, after graduation from William Mitchell college of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. He then went on to work at John Halpern & Associates for 14 years in downtown Minneapolis. In february of 2002 he began his solo practice at Cottrell Law Firm, where his practice has grown from sharing an office and secretary with another attorney to ownig his own building and having a staff of six in ten short years. Cottrell Law Firm continues to grow and expand its business while maintaining many of its original early clientele. Since opening its doors in 2002, Cottrell Law Firm has grown and become a leader in collecting debts in Minnesota; it also has developed a strong and growing general practice, including estate planning, family law and many other areas of practice. Bill's common sense approach to law has served his clients well. He has had great success winning law suits, negotiating settlements and providing sound legal advice to his clients.
